Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
All Saints has a virtual fully integrated four place resource for students with physical disabilities. These students are admitted to the school by the Local Authority and have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which recommends this type of provision. Students who hold an Integrated Resource (IR) place are taught within the mainstream classroom setting. Allocation of additional staff is primarily to support students who have IR places.
The Local Authority may also allocate other students with an EHCP, but not requiring IR provision, if they consider that the school can offer an appropriate educational environment for the child providing the level of support and resources required.
Any other students with additional needs but no EHCP who wish to be admitted to the school are considered alongside all other applicants, using the school admission criteria. Further information regarding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities can be found in the school prospectus.
Arrangements for handling complaints from parents of children with SEND regarding the school’s support are within the scope of the school’s complaints procedure. In accordance with the SEND Code of Practice, where parents have specific complaints about the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) procedures, or regarding the content of their child’s EHCP we refer them to the Local Authority.
