As part of the Year 10 BTEC Dance course the students created a section of musical theatre dance; Hairspray to teach to a group of students from Seven Hills. The Year 10 class delivered 3 sessions to the group to teach the choreography. They worked exceptionally hard and both the students from All Saints and Seven Hills really enjoyed the experience. All five students performed with the students in their assembly on Wednesday. The students really enjoyed the performance.
The Autumn Musical Showcase was a resounding success with performances from KS3 to KS5 pupils demonstrating their musical talent. A warm thank you to the music department for organising it and to the pupils for allowing us to hear their exceptional talents.
The Geography department ran their annual Y7 trip to the village of Castleton in Derbyshire. The trip was designed as an introduction to Geography Fieldwork and involved a number of different activities. Despite having to brave some inclement weather conditions our Y7s managed to create a field sketch of Mam Tor, explore the entrance to Peak Cliff Cavern and complete a Land Use survey. The Geography Department would like to thank the Y7s for their excellent behaviour and attitude to learning on the trip.
As part of the "Into Film" festival that occurs across the UK every year, Y8 students visited the Vue Cinema at Meadowhall for a private screening of "The Book Thief". Courtesy of the English Department, the screening included a small insight into the film industry from one of the cinema's experts, and concluded with the thought provoking film adaptation of the novel "The Book Thief". Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we would like to extend our thanks to Vue for being such great hosts.
