Reading at All Saints

All Saints recognises the importance of reading for pleasure as well as further developing vitally important literacy skills. To allow this to happen, all pupils should carry a reading book with them in school, so that they can take the opportunity to immerse themselves in a story that interests them.

It is interesting to note that research from The Reading Agency suggests that 10 to 16 year olds who read for pleasure do better at school. We spoke to a few of our students about why they enjoy reading.

Year 11-13 Mock Exams

Our Year 11, 12 and 13 students have now taken their mock exams and are awaiting their results, which will indicate the progress they are making towards achieving their forecasted grades in the summer examinations.

First Aid Course

Eight of our members of staff have been on a First Aid course this week and are now fully qualified in administering first aid across the school. All eight were presented with a certificate to certify completion of the course.
